Draw Something!

So, sometimes I indulge in a little Facebook game-play.  Sue me.  First, many moons ago, it was Farmville.  Yes, I got sucked into that time-wasting planting game.  I finally quit, and planted actual veggies.  Much more rewarding, and worth the time spent playing in the dirt.

Next came Bejeweled Blitz.  I have a love-hate relationship with that game.  At times, I can't stop.  Other times, I leave it for months on end until a friend challenges me.  Just like now.  Lots of new bells and whistles to use.

I also started playing Bubble Witch Saga.  That is my go-to game when I need some downtime.  My stress-reliever.  I started playing Candy Crush Saga, too.  I loved it.  Loved it. I reached level 147, and have been stuck there for four months. I gave up.  I try at the urging of fellow player-friends but, while I love a challenge, I think this game sucks you in to the point where you simply must pay to advance.  Kind of takes all the fun out it.  I refuse to pay just to advance one level.

I was playing WWF - Words With Friends for a year or so with various people.  I really have to be in the mood to play that.  I can't play it daily, which annoys some players.  Just like Scrabble;  I'll play:  once in a while.

A game called, "Draw Something" debuted a year or so ago.  Now, that's my kind of game!  I began playing with some friends and had a BLAST.  Then it just lost its charm.  Until ...

Not only is the user interface much easier to use, but there are now different "mediums" you can "buy" as you progress in the game.  The more you draw, the more you score, so the more you can buy at the art "Store."  I began playing with my cousin in Texas.  She's an artist.  That being said, you don't have to be one to play.  I have asked many friends to play. I usually get the same answer:  "I can't draw."  See, to me, that makes it even more fun.  Plus, if you keep doing it, you get better.  You don't have to be an artist to play, people!  It's like Pictionary on steroids.

It's become sort of an obsession with me.  Like a daily writing prompt, this is my daily drawing prompt. AND, it keeps me close to my cousin!  it's "Our time." And, it keeps the creative juices flowing.  I now draw things that are totally out of my comfort zone.  The real challenge, for me, is drawing on a tiny iTouch screen!  The first edition, "Draw Something" is available for Kindle Fire.  Now, why DS2 is not, is beyond me.  I'll pay for that!  Seriously.  It's really difficult drawing on a tiny screen no bigger than an iPhone.

I only have two people playing with me.  I wish there were more!
Iced Tea

Braid

Gummi Bear

Cat

Oyster

Just a few samples.   Whoever came up with this game, I thank you.  Well, my cousin just finished her turn and I'm up.  Wonder what I'll be drawing?  Hmm.  I chose "Tank"  I've never drawn a tank.  What kind of tank?  Fish?  Military?  Air?

Until next time,

Keep those pencils sharpened and those stylus' clean!
